Friday March 9
I am looking forward to today. As always there’s a lot to do, but each day brings me one step closer to completion on another project. Each day another box get checked. I love using checklists! They help me see what I need to do and prioritize. I am closing out this week feeling pretty good.
I finally got to look into the idea of staging Burghardt and what it will cost. Check.
I am definitely going to do it. I know that it does make a difference to a prospective buyer to stage a property. But until this point it has seemed like too much work. I have done just fine with a few curtains, area rugs and plants. I am not sure why I have had this switch go off in my head. But I am excited to try something new. I will be renting the furniture. And it really works out great for me. I can have them bring it all in, set it up, pay by the month and then they’ll come back and take it all out when I am done. Super easy right? I am going to see how it goes. If it turns out to be seamless, then I will definitely do it again. If it turns out to be a hassle, then I most likely will file it under lessons learned.
I also added 3 new contacts to my database this week. Check.
I’m looking forward to trying out a new plumber I met. I also added a new carpet installer and a potential painter. I am very loyal to my professionals, but it never hurts to have backups.
I downloaded an app for storing my business cards. Check.
I found one that is free and has good reviews. The challenge now will be to figure it out. I haven’t done that part yet. I’ll put it on next weeks list of things to do.
I won’t bore you with the rest of my checks. Some of them are as simple as go and pay contractor or stop and buy trash bags. The important thing is that you keep track of all you have to do. Be sure to spend time on the things that will be best for your business. Or get you closer to your goals.
I love checklists because they guide me to the completion part of real estate investing. It is always so exciting to see the finished look. Sometimes it’s the small touches that really stand out. But a word of advice. Be sure to take lots of before pictures! You’ll wish you had taken them when you are done.
Get up and write a post – Check!
